Welcome to RecycleYourWaste.

This is a one stop shop to learn how to efficiently reduce your waste stream by understanding how to source separate your recyclables. Source separation basically means organizing your waste into certain categories.

What is recycling?
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), recycling is a series of activities that includes collecting recyclable materials that would otherwise be considered waste, sorting and processing recyclables into raw materials such as fibers, and manufacturing raw materials into new products.

Why should you recycle?
  • Conserves resources for our children's future.
  • Prevents emissions of many greenhouse gases and water pollutants.
  • Saves energy.
  • Supplies valuable raw materials to industry.
  • Creates jobs.
  • Stimulates the development of greener technologies.
  • Reduces the need for new landfills and incinerators.

What is waste?

The EPA calls waste, trash, or garbage municipal solid waste or MSW. This category consists of everyday items such as product packaging, grass clippings, furniture, clothing, bottles, food scraps, newspapers, appliances, paint, and batteries.

What is the goal of recycleyourwaste?

We are here to teach you how to divert your waste from a landfill or an incinerator. The goal here is to show that you can take your waste and "stick it" some place else that is better for you and the environment.
